How to get Japanese: The Game

The sale of Japanese: The Game to the defunct Unnamed Method, LLC did not go well at all, regrettably. The owner ghosted me and I don’t have any way to know what is happening on their side. But before total radio silence I was able to get a statement that they divest interest in the brand and its intellectual property. So it’s mine again. Which means it’s yours again, in a sense: You now have access to PDF Downloads of all the Print-and-Play files so you can print a version at home or your local print shop and a Print On Demand through TheGameCrafter.com who will make your decks professionally and ship them to you.

If you would like to make your own Japanese: The Game decks or variants, I have created an open license. Here are the details:

Creative Commons License
Japanese: The Game by Bernhard Hamaker is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.

So here are all the decks in their current form, grouped by edition:

Original Edition

Original Edition Core Deck

(But frankly the Tokyo Core rules are clearer.)

Original Edition Expansions

Tokyo Edition

Tokyo Edition Expansions

At the moment, only eight of the decks below are available. The links to Counting and Fantasy are not functional but should be repaired soon (posted 6/29/2020).
